What is the Royal Mail last posting date for the Philippines for Christmas 2026?

Royal Mail’s own Christmas page was headed “Get ready for Christmas 2026” on 2026-10-19. It prints inland and BFPO dates only. For international post it names no date by country and points to its Country Guides for delivery aims. The Philippines date sits on the Post Office’s 2026 list, where the country appears as “Philippines (the)”, and every Royal Mail and Parcelforce international service sold over the counter there shows one day: Wednesday, December 9.

Other destinations on the same list close later: Friday, December 11 for Australia, Saturday, December 12 for Hong Kong, Japan and the United States, Tuesday, December 15 for France.

The dates and the delivery aims do not line up for one service. The Post Office gives International Economy the same December 9 date as Tracked, while its own Economy page says delivery to Asia takes up to 8 weeks. Royal Mail’s own 2026 page names no international date that would settle it, so both figures stay on this page.

Royal Mail’s international parcel services stop at 2 kg. Above that, the Post Office’s international option is Parcelforce Global Priority, which takes up to 30 kg. Each parcel service on the table needs a customs form for the Philippines. The Post Office adds that parcels have to reach the branch before its final acceptance time, which varies by branch, so on December 9 the posted date ends at that counter’s closing hour.

Of the six UK box couriers in the table below, Balikbayan Box UK alone prints dated 2026 Christmas deadlines on its own site, and its three deadlines have all passed. Its advisory of July 1, 2026 sets booking-for-collection deadlines by destination: August 5 for the Visayas and Mindanao, August 23 for Luzon Areas 1 and 2, September 12 for Metro Manila. The reasons given are the Red Sea, seaport congestion and the San Juanico Bridge closure to heavy vehicles. Its Manila partner, 12:24 Cargo Express, gets the credit for “a longer cut-off period this year”.

Balikbayan Box UK’s FAQ asks for three copies of the BoC information sheet per box: one fixed to the box, one for the courier as consolidator, one kept by the sender.

Pooten’s FAQ gives the history of its own figure: before ships began going around Africa it quoted 8 to 10 weeks to Central Luzon, and it now quotes 10 to 12 weeks as a minimum. Balikbayan Box UK’s sea leg alone, port to port, is longer than that.

What changes once the box lands in the Philippines?

CAO 01-2018 §4.2 caps the duty-free total at ₱150,000 in FCA value for all balikbayan boxes one sender ships in a calendar year, whichever courier carries them. A box that travels by post instead of in a consolidated shipment falls under other customs orders, CAO 03-2017 on postal items among them, and §4.4 still counts it toward the sender’s availments, which §4.1 caps at three a calendar year (CAO master copy, checked 2026-10-19).
