Singapore Christmas balikbayan box cut-off 2026: SingPost, Speedpost and box couriers
On 18 October 2026, neither SingPost, DHL Express Singapore nor any of the seven Singapore box couriers checked on their own sites has posted a Christmas cut-off for the Philippines. The numbers that do exist are standing ones. AFreight commits to 14 days to Metro Manila and 37 days to Mindanao, counted from vessel departure (its FAQ). Counted back from December 24, that puts the last Mindanao sailing on Tuesday, November 17, 2026 and the last Metro Manila sailing on Thursday, December 10; both are derived arithmetic, not posted dates. SingPost’s Speedpost Priority International is posted at 3–14 working days to major cities.

When is the SingPost Christmas 2026 deadline for the Philippines?
SingPost’s service-announcements feed is a good place to look for one, because it keeps old notices: 386 of them on 18 October, a single 2023 strike notice and the rest from 2024 to 2026. Not one is a festive or Christmas posting table, and the overseas pages carry no year-end date either. What SingPost does publish is a standing estimate per service, written for major cities.
| Service | Posted delivery (major cities) | Max weight | Size limit | Tracked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Speedpost Express International | 2–9 working days | 20 kg | Length ≤ 1.05 m; length + girth ≤ 2 m | Yes |
| Speedpost Priority International | 3–14 working days | 20 kg | Length ≤ 1.05 m; length + girth ≤ 2 m | Yes |
| Speedpost Saver International | 3–11 working days | 2 kg | Length ≤ 600 mm; L + W + H ≤ 900 mm | Yes (no pickup) |
| Airmail Basic Package | 3–12 working days | 2 kg | Length ≤ 600 mm; L + W + H ≤ 900 mm | No |
| Speedpost Economy International | 3–15 weeks | 10 or 20 kg, by destination | Length ≤ 1.05 m; length + girth ≤ 2 m | Yes |
| Surface mail (letters and printed papers) | 3–17 weeks | 2 kg | Letter sizes only | No |
Registered post is missing from that table on purpose. Since 1 January 2026, SingPost’s international Registered Service takes only documents with no commercial value, a change it says the Universal Postal Union mandated, so a packet of gifts can no longer go registered. Below 2 kg, the tracked routes are Speedpost Saver and the Speedpost parcel services.
Price depends on which zone a service puts the Philippines in. Airmail and Speedpost Saver use Zone 2, “Countries in Asia & the Pacific (except Australia, Japan & New Zealand)”, and SingPost’s 2026 zone list names the Philippines there. The three Speedpost parcel services price by Zone B, which the rate card labels simply “Asia”. At 2 kg, the one weight all five parcel services share, the gap between the cheapest and the dearest is almost threefold.
SGD per 2 kg item
The spread widens with weight. At 20 kg, Zone B is posted at SGD 106.00 by Economy, SGD 278.00 by Priority and SGD 398.00 by Express. Speedpost also measures length plus girth against a 2 m limit, and the smaller courier boxes sit on either side of it: Jolly-B’s Bee Box (22 × 22 × 10.5 inches) comes to about 221 cm, while AFreight’s Gift Pack (12 × 14 × 14 inches) comes to about 168 cm, both derived from the couriers’ posted sizes.
What SingPost pays out if a parcel goes missing is capped. Speedpost compensation is SGD 150 per shipment or the declared value, whichever is lower, and SGD 68 on Speedpost Saver, while the rate card says SingPost “shall not be liable for all untracked services”. For Express, Priority and Economy International, Enhanced Liability cover costs 2% of the declared value, up to a declared value of SGD 2,000 per shipment.
What is the DHL, FedEx or UPS Christmas deadline from Singapore?
The three express carriers were checked on the same day, and the result is the same for each: no Philippines date that could be confirmed.
| Carrier | 2026 Philippines last-ship date | What the carrier posts |
|---|---|---|
| DHL Express Singapore | Not posted; confirm with DHL Express | 'DHL Express is closed on public holidays.' 2026 list includes Deepavali Nov 8 and Christmas Dec 25. Hours of operations: Mon–Fri 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sat 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sun closed. |
| FedEx Singapore | Not confirmed; confirm with FedEx | No 2026 date on a page readable on 2026-10-18; confirm with FedEx |
| UPS Singapore | Not confirmed; confirm with UPS | No 2026 date on a page readable on 2026-10-18; confirm with UPS |
DHL’s guide does have one Christmas sentence: “To ship during Christmas this year, the cut-off shipping delivery date would be 24th December (Christmas Eve).” It comes straight after a line about timing deliveries to land the day before a public holiday, and it names no destination. It is not read here as a Philippines date.
Which Singapore box couriers post a 2026 Christmas cut-off?
Seven Singapore balikbayan couriers run their own websites, and on 18 October not one of them showed a 2026 Christmas date. Each sets its own closing date per vessel and per Philippine region. The table adds what the Philippine register says about each. Under CAO 01-2018 §3.7 and §3.8, the Singapore company is the consolidator and its Philippine partner the deconsolidator, and DTI’s Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau lists the pairs it has accredited.

BM Express SG’s pairing carries an expiry of 6 September 2026 on the August list, and no later list had been published by 18 October, so its present status sits with DTI or the courier. Jolly-B’s case is a name match and nothing more. The list prints registered company names and does not say which Philippine forwarder handles Jolly-B’s boxes.
Only AFreight puts a number on the Singapore leg itself, and its FAQ breaks that number down by Philippine region.
days from vessel departure to delivery
Every one of those counts begins when the ship leaves Singapore. Time spent at the warehouse waiting for a container to fill is not in them, and that is why the calendar above plots sailings, not drop-offs. AFreight’s Singapore rows also end with the phrase “after departure of vessel from HK port”, word for word the same as its Hong Kong and Macau rows. Whether Singapore boxes actually pass through Hong Kong, the FAQ doesn’t say. This page makes no assumption either way; AFreight’s Lucky Plaza branch can answer it.
The spread between regions is wide. Mindanao’s latest sailing, November 17, comes 23 days before Metro Manila’s. A box aimed at January 6, 2027 instead of Christmas Eve moves each of those sailings later: Mindanao to Monday, November 30, Luzon D and Visayas to Monday, December 7, and Metro Manila to Wednesday, December 23 (derived the same way). The stages in between are laid out in how long a balikbayan box takes.
How boxes from Singapore reach each Philippine region
Of the seven couriers checked, only Jolly-B prints routing on its rate card. Its 2026 sea board marks some destination groups as direct sailings and others as going through Manila.
| Destination group on the board | Routing as printed | Places listed |
|---|---|---|
| Cebu | Direct Sailing | Bacolod, Dumaguete, Negros Occidental/Oriental, Bohol, Tagbilaran; Siquijor marked via Manila |
| Mindanao – Davao | Direct Sailing | Compostela Valley, Cotabato, Davao City, Digos, General Santos, Kidapawan, Mati, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Tagum |
| Cagayan de Oro | Via Manila | Agusan, Bukidnon, Butuan, Iligan City, Misamis Oriental, Oroquieta City, Ozamis City, Surigao |
| Hardports | Via Manila | Puerto Princesa, Zamboanga (city limits only); Leyte: Ormoc, Tacloban, Maasin; Samar (city limits only) |
| Ifugao, Mt. Province | Not available | Listed on the board as not served |
Air is the other option on that page, though its board is older. Jolly-B’s air parcel rates, marked “Effective June 1st 2025” and still the ones posted on 18 October 2026, start at SGD 50.00 for 5 kg to Manila and give transit of 3–5 days to Manila, 3–7 to Luzon and 10–12 to Iloilo and Bacolod (city limits), “based on customs clearance at destination”.
A box routed via Manila still has a domestic leg to run once it clears. LBC Express shows how long that leg takes on its own network, counted from the National Capital Region, on its Singapore sea-freight page.
How to check that a Singapore forwarder is accredited
Anyone can open the DTI list; it is a public PDF on DTI’s file server. The Bureau of Customs hosts an earlier edition, dated 30 June 2026, and some of its expiry dates differ from the 31 August edition: Metrobox’s pairing reads 9 August 2026 there and 9 August 2031 in August.

Padala timing: Singapore holidays and the rest day
Once the last sailing has gone, money is the other way to send Christmas home. The Ministry of Manpower’s list fixes which days Singapore is on holiday at the end of the year.
| Holiday | Date | MOM note |
|---|---|---|
| Deepavali | Sunday, 8 Nov 2026 | 'Monday, 9 November 2026, will be a public holiday if your rest day falls on 8 November 2026.' |
| Christmas Day | Friday, 25 Dec 2026 | None listed |
| New Year's Day | Friday, 1 Jan 2027 | None listed |
Christmas Eve is a normal Thursday in Singapore. MOM gives a domestic worker one rest day a week, agreed with the employer, and at least one a month that “cannot be compensated away”. If that day is a Sunday, the posted hours leave few openings. Post-office collection runs Monday to Friday, with mail posted after the cut-off “collected and processed the following working day”, so a Sunday parcel would leave on Monday (derived from those collection times). DHL Express’s hours end at 2 p.m. on Saturday. SingPost does list self-service POPDrop kiosks, where a sender can “print labels, send or return parcels”, though it posts no hours for them, and SpeedBox posts counter hours of 10:00am to 07:30pm without naming the days. The Philippine side runs on its own holiday calendar, covered in December remittance timing and Philippine holidays.
For a transfer’s cost, the World Bank’s corridor survey prices two amounts, SGD 260 and SGD 645, which stand in for USD 200 and USD 500. The most recent readable quarter is Q1 2025.
| Amount sent | Average fee | Average FX margin | Average total cost | Total cost in SGD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SGD 260 | SGD 6.04 | 1.01% | 3.33% | SGD 8.66 |
| SGD 645 | SGD 8.15 | 1.01% | 2.28% | SGD 14.68 |
The fee rises with the amount, from SGD 6.04 to SGD 8.15, but far less than the amount does, while the FX margin stays at 1.01%; that is why the total cost falls from 3.33% to 2.28% (derived from the table). The survey is from early 2025, and a provider’s quote on the day of sending can differ from these averages in either direction.
What changes once the box lands
Singapore boxes clear under the same customs order as every other origin. CAO 01-2018 §4.2 looks at a sender’s whole year: the FCA values of all the balikbayan boxes they send from January to December, added together, may not go past ₱150,000, and §4.1 limits the duty-free privilege to three uses per sender in the same calendar year. Under §4.4, a balikbayan box that travels by post or express instead of a consolidated shipment falls under a different customs order but still counts toward those three. Any other Speedpost or airmail parcel comes under CMTA §423, which collects no duties and taxes on goods worth ₱10,000 or less, FOB or FCA (both instruments re-read on customs.gov.ph, 2026-10-18). The full rules are on the balikbayan box tax-free limit.
How to read this
Nothing on this page is a promise of arrival. The SingPost ranges are estimates for major cities, AFreight’s days can “change without prior notice”, and the sailing dates are arithmetic on those days. When SingPost or a courier posts a 2026 date on its own site, that date replaces its confirm-with row here; the page is re-checked weekly until Christmas. The sailing arithmetic for one route and one region is in the Christmas box cut-off checker.

Questions, answered
- What is the SingPost Christmas 2026 posting deadline for the Philippines?
- SingPost had posted no 2026 festive or Christmas posting date for overseas mail as of 18 October 2026, and none appears anywhere in its service-announcements feed, which held 386 notices that day, from 2023 to 2026. What SingPost posts are standing estimates for major cities: Speedpost Express International 2–9 working days, Speedpost Priority International 3–14, Speedpost Saver International 3–11, airmail 3–12 working days, and Speedpost Economy International 3–15 weeks. Since 11 August 2026, post offices collect mail at 5:00 PM on Mondays to Fridays.
- Is it too late to send a balikbayan box from Singapore for Christmas 2026?
- No Singapore box courier checked on 18 October 2026 posts a 2026 Christmas cut-off on its own site. AFreight posts a standing delivery commitment for boxes from Singapore, counted from vessel departure: 14 days to Metro Manila, 30 days to Visayas and 37 days to Mindanao. Counted back from Thursday, December 24, those give latest sailings of December 10, November 24 and November 17, 2026. That is arithmetic on AFreight's figures, not a posted cut-off, and the drop-off date for a given sailing comes earlier.
- Which Singapore balikbayan couriers are DTI-accredited?
- The DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau's Singapore list, as of 31 August 2026, names Afreight Cargo Pte Ltd, Bm Express Sg Pte Ltd, LBC Express Airfreight (S) Pte.Ltd., Metrobox Services Pte. Ltd., Speedbox Pte Ltd and Umac Express Cargo as foreign agents, each paired with a Philippine forwarder and an expiry date. Jolly-B Box Express does not appear under that name. The list prints registered company names, which can differ from the names on a shop counter.
- What is the DHL, FedEx or UPS Christmas 2026 deadline from Singapore to the Philippines?
- On 18 October 2026, none of the three had a 2026 Singapore-to-Philippines last-ship date that could be confirmed. DHL Express Singapore's 2026 guide (updated 2 February 2026) says DHL Express is closed on public holidays and lists Christmas on December 25; its single Christmas sentence names December 24 without naming any destination. For UPS Singapore and FedEx Singapore there was no 2026 date on a page readable on 18 October 2026; their dates are confirm-with-the-carrier.
- How much does it cost to send SGD 260 or SGD 645 to the Philippines?
- The World Bank's Singapore→Philippines survey for Q1 2025 (data collected February 5–28, 2025) puts the average total cost at 3.33% for an SGD 260 send, or SGD 8.66, and 2.28% for an SGD 645 send, or SGD 14.68, averaged across all providers surveyed. Q1 2025 is the newest quarter readable on 18 October 2026, via an Internet Archive capture of the corridor page dated 2026-02-14. The corridor prices only those two amounts.
