Australia Post Christmas 2026 sending dates to the Philippines, plus box cut-offs

Checked Seasonal — refreshed yearly

Australia Post’s Christmas page, read on 2026-10-18, gives four last sending dates for the Philippines: Courier 15 December, Express 11 December and Standard 7 December 2026, plus 30 November for Economy Air letters and International Post Registered letters. Economy parcels to the Philippines are suspended. The sea-box Christmas lists have closed: Forex Cargo Australia’s last Christmas loading was Metro Manila on September 28, and Aussie Balikbayan Boxes took its last Christmas collections in Perth on October 11. Forex still loads boxes every week outside that list: its schedule on 2026-10-18 showed NSW loadings dated October 19 and October 26, 2026, departing Sydney October 27 and November 4.

Australia Post dates are its 2026 Philippines row: a guide for metro-to-metro sending, subject to change, aimed at Christmas Day (Dec 25). Forex dates are Sydney warehouse loading days; Aussie Balikbayan Boxes dates are Perth collection deadlines. Markers marked derived are arithmetic on Australia Post's own add-on rule. Rows without a date have no 2026 Christmas date on the carrier's own site; confirm with that carrier. Re-checked weekly through December 24.

What are the Australia Post Christmas 2026 dates for the Philippines?

Australia Post prints one row per destination in its 2026 international table. The Philippines sits in the P–S block, and each column is a separate service with its own speed and content rules.

Australia Post, Christmas cut-off dates 2026, country table, Philippines row, read 2026-10-18. Australia Post calls the dates 'a guide for senders only' and 'correct at time of publishing and subject to change', and says items sent after them 'may not arrive until after Christmas'. The SA, TAS and NT column applies Australia Post's own add-on (2 business days for Express, 5 for Standard and Economy): derived, not a posted date.

The 30 November column is for letters and cards. At the top of the same page, the East/Southeast Asia summary line calls it “Economy Air parcels & International Post Registered letters”. The Philippines row in the country table leaves out the word parcels, and Australia Post’s delivery-times guide lists Economy parcels to the Philippines as “Air: Suspended” and “Sea: Not available”. For a parcel, Standard on 7 December is the earliest service with a 2026 date.

Two assumptions sit under every date. Australia Post counts to Christmas Day, a day after Noche Buena. It also counts between metro destinations, and says items to and from regional and rural locations “will likely take longer”. On the Philippine side, its Philippines guide narrows “metro” to one place: PHLPost treats Metro Manila as the only major metro area, and items moving between islands travel by regional ferry, which “adds a further 10+ business days on all items addressed outside the Metro Manila area”. A parcel for Cebu, Iloilo or Davao falls under that line.

Australia Post's posted delivery times to the Philippines, in business days (checked 2026-10-18) Posted terms — see sources
Philippines row of Australia Post's international delivery-times guide, read 2026-10-18. Australia Post calls the times a general guide only: between metro areas of major cities, for low-value, low-risk items pre-cleared through customs, with time in customs excluded. Economy parcels: Air suspended, Sea not available. Economy Air and International Post Registered letters: 20+ business days, so no bar is drawn.

Counting forward from each last date, Monday to Friday, gives a landing day for a Metro Manila address. At the fast end of each range all three services land on Thursday, December 17. At the slow end, Express (8 business days from Friday, December 11) and Standard (12 from Monday, December 7) land on Wednesday, December 23, and Courier (4 from Tuesday, December 15) on Monday, December 21. These counts are derived and carry no customs time, which footnote 4 leaves out of every estimate. Add PHLPost’s 10+ business days for an address outside Metro Manila and every one of them, fast end included, moves past December 24 (derived).

Australia Post caps an international parcel at 20 kg, 105 cm in length and 140 cm in girth. Courier is lodged only at selected post offices, and Australia Post’s outlet list gives each one its own daily cut-off time.

What International Courier will not carry to the Philippines

Courier, the service with the latest date, carries its own content bans on Australia Post’s Philippines guide, read 2026-10-18:

  • “Transporting food of any kind, cash and perfumes are prohibited under International Courier.”
  • All batteries and devices containing them, “e.g. laptops, mobile phones, wireless headphones and equivalent, power banks, tablets”, are prohibited from being sent via International Courier.
  • All types of medications, prescribed or not, are prohibited via International Courier.

That takes chocolates, a perfume set and a phone off the latest service. The same guide lists restrictions for International Standard articles carried on the EMS network, among them perfume and perfumery, jewellery, currency, coins, precious stones, perishables and watches “only if over $150.00”; it gives no separate list for Express. A third list covers goods Australia Post records as prohibited from importation into the Philippines on any service, among them coffee, liqueurs and spirits, and liquids. What the Bureau of Customs itself restricts is on what you can and can’t pack.

Is Australia Post mail to the Philippines delayed?

The 2026 Christmas table and this notice were both live on 2026-10-18. Neither page refers to the other, so the transit counts above use the posted times alone.

Have DHL, FedEx and UPS posted Christmas 2026 dates from Australia?

As of 2026-10-18, none of the three had a 2026 Christmas date for shipments from Australia on its Australian pages. FedEx Australia’s 2025 notice came out on December 10, 2025, so a 2026 table can arrive late. Each carrier sits on this page as a dateless row until its own page carries one. A 2025 date is never shown as current.

When is the balikbayan box Christmas cut-off from Australia?

Forex Cargo Australia in Sydney and Aussie Balikbayan Boxes in Perth publish a dated 2026 Christmas list on their own websites. Both lists are sea freight. By 2026-10-18 every Christmas date on both had passed.

Forex’s list names no Cebu, Iloilo, Leyte or Samar address: its “Visayas / Inter-Island” group is Mindoro, Palawan, Marinduque, Romblon, Catanduanes, Masbate and Antique, and its Visayas delivery time below gives no province list either.

Forex: 'Delivery timelines are from the date of departure of Vessel from Sydney port' (forexcargo.com.au/shipping-schedule). All read 2026-10-18.

Forex’s schedule page explains part of the length. No vessel now sails direct from Australia to Manila; every ship calls at other ports first, which Forex says adds about 7 to 14 days, with the port leg alone now 3 to 4 weeks against about 2 before.

Which Forex sailings are still open after the Christmas list?

Loadings continue every week. Boxes go into containers “first come, first in”, and a box that arrives after the scheduled container fills rolls to the next one.

How can a box courier in Australia be checked?

Two Philippine registers name accredited forwarders and their overseas agents, and Australia Post publishes its own content rules per destination. The Philippine Embassy in Canberra points senders to the DTI register in an advisory of 1 August 2019.

Which Australian holidays and bank closures fall around Christmas 2026?

A transfer has no shipping cut-off, but it crosses two banking calendars. On the Australian side, the state government pages for New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia list the same Christmas run.

The Reserve Bank’s RITS page sets out which of those days stop interbank settlement: weekends, and Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day among others, where they are observed in NSW and Victoria. NPP payments settle through the Fast Settlement Service “24 hours per day” and “on every day of the year”. With Christmas on a Friday, RITS settlement is closed at least from Friday, December 25 to Sunday, December 27 (derived); the page does not say how it treats the additional Monday. Manila keeps its own December closures, dated in December remittance timing and Philippine holidays.

The World Bank prices this corridor at AUD 200 and AUD 500 only. Its newest survey round, Third Quarter 2025, was collected from 18 August to 3 September 2025, more than a year before this Christmas.

In money, the Q3 2025 average came to AUD 5.22 at AUD 200 and AUD 7.35 at AUD 500. The fee carried most of it: the exchange-rate margin averaged 0.38% at both amounts, down from 1.29% at AUD 200 in Q1 2025. Provider-level rows are on sending money from Australia to the Philippines.

What arrives after December 24?

Three Kings Day, January 6, 2027, is a Wednesday, 13 days after Noche Buena (derived). Aussie Balikbayan Boxes already labels a sailing for that window: its November shipment, collection days November 15 to 21, collection deadline Sunday, November 22, leaving Perth Friday, November 27, “for Jan 2027 Deliveries”.

Channels that can still beat Noche Buena after the sea boxes have sailed, for every sending country, are listed on what still arrives after the Christmas box cut-off. Ordering inside the Philippines for local delivery is on Christmas gifts delivered in the Philippines from abroad.

How does Philippine customs treat a box versus a parcel?

Philippine customs handles the two kinds of shipment under different instruments. A consolidated balikbayan box from a qualified sender counts against CAO 01-2018 §4.2, which caps at ₱150,000 the combined FCA value of all boxes a single sender sends in one calendar year. Under §4.4, a balikbayan box sent by post or express instead falls under a different CAO, CAO 03-2017 for postal items among them, yet still counts toward the three availments a year that §4.1 allows (BOC master copy, read 2026-10-18). For other goods, CMTA §423 sets the de minimis value at ₱10,000 FOB or FCA; goods valued at that or less pay no duties and taxes (RA 10863, read 2026-10-18). Worked examples are on the balikbayan box tax-free limit.

How to read this

Three kinds of line on this page move at different speeds. Australia Post’s table is fixed unless Australia Post changes it, and it says it may. Forex’s loadings roll forward every week, so the sailing rows above are dated to 2026-10-18 and age fast. The express carriers have posted nothing yet; FedEx’s 2025 table came in December. Every date marked derived is arithmetic on a posted figure, and the page is re-checked weekly to December 24. The Christmas box cut-off checker counts each route back from Dec 24.

Questions, answered

Is it too late to send a balikbayan box from Australia for Christmas 2026?
The two Australian box couriers that post a 2026 Christmas list on their own sites have closed it. Forex Cargo Australia's sea-only list ran from a Mindanao loading on July 31 to a Metro Manila loading on September 28. Aussie Balikbayan Boxes in Perth set its last Christmas collection deadline at October 11, leaving Perth October 16, and labels its November sailing for January 2027 deliveries. Forex keeps weekly loadings outside its Christmas list; its schedule on 2026-10-18 showed NSW loadings on October 19 and October 26, 2026, departing October 27 and November 4.
Can a parcel with chocolates, perfume or a phone go to the Philippines by Australia Post International Courier?
No, according to Australia Post's Philippines international post guide, read 2026-10-18. It states that food of any kind, cash and perfumes are prohibited under International Courier, that all batteries and devices containing them, including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, wireless headphones and power banks, are prohibited via International Courier, and that all types of medications are too. Courier carries the latest Christmas date to the Philippines, 15 December 2026. The same guide restricts perfume, perfumery and jewellery on International Standard articles carried by EMS, and lists coffee and liqueurs and spirits as prohibited from importation on any service.
How long does Australia Post take to deliver a parcel to the Philippines?
Australia Post's international delivery-times guide, Philippines row, read 2026-10-18, gives 2 to 4 business days for International Courier, 4 to 8 for International Express and 8 to 12 for International Standard. Do Australian bank holidays at Christmas 2026 delay a transfer to the Philippines?
The NSW, Victoria, Queensland and WA government holiday pages list Christmas Day on Friday 25 December 2026, Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December with an additional public holiday on Monday 28 December, and New Year's Day on Friday 1 January 2027. The Reserve Bank of Australia states RITS is closed for non-NPP settlement on weekends and those holidays where observed in NSW and Victoria, while NPP transactions settle 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Philippine December closures apply separately. Read 2026-10-18.
