Canada Post Christmas 2026 deadlines to the Philippines, plus box cut-offs

Checked Seasonal — refreshed yearly

Canada Post’s 2026 holiday table, dated October 2026, has no Philippines row. A Philippine address falls under its Asia row: Friday, December 11 for Xpresspost International and Wednesday, December 9 for Small Packet International and Christmas cards (checked October 18, 2026). None of the five Canadian balikbayan couriers checked posts a 2026 Christmas cut-off on its own site. The nearest thing is Johnny Air Cargo Canada’s weekly air flight from Toronto, which, counted back from December 24, puts the last cut-off for a provincial address on Tuesday, December 8 (derived, not a posted date).

  • Canada Post — International Parcel Surface: no holiday date; posted estimate 4–12 weeks
  • UPS Canada — express: no 2026 international ship-by date carried; confirm with UPS
  • FedEx Canada — express: 2026 closures posted (Dec 25, 26, 28; Jan 1, 2027); no 2026 last-ship date to Asia carried; confirm with FedEx
  • DHL Express Canada — express: no Canada-origin 2026 Christmas date on DHL's pages; confirm with DHL
  • Box couriers (5 checked) — sea / air box: Darna Express, Forex eShip Canada, Johnny Air, LBC Canada, UMAC Toronto: none posts a 2026 Christmas cut-off
Canada Post's markers are its own 2026 send-by dates for the Asia row, set between major urban centres with exceptions in some areas. The two Johnny Air markers are derived: December 24 counted back through Johnny Air's posted Wednesday flight and 5–10 business-day delivery; Philippine holidays (Dec 8, Dec 24) are not netted out. A courier gets a dated marker here only when it posts a 2026 date on its own site. Re-checked weekly through December.

When is the Canada Post Christmas 2026 deadline for the Philippines?

Canada Post groups its international send-by dates by region and lists 15 “popular sending destinations”. The Philippines isn’t one of them, so the row to read is Asia. The French page, Conseils d’expédition pour les Fêtes, carries the same row as Asie: 11 décembre and 09 décembre.

Only two parcel columns appear on that table. One is Xpresspost International. The other combines Tracked Packet and Small Packet, and here the price guide settles which half applies: Tracked Packet International’s destination list doesn’t include the Philippines, while Small Packet International’s does. International Parcel and Priority Worldwide get no holiday date at all.

Send-by dates: Canada Post 'Plan your holiday sending', dated October 2026, Asia row. Availability, rate codes and maximum weights: Canada Post consumer prices guide, updated September 7, 2026 (International Parcel Surface listing effective March 23, 2026). Estimates and tracking: 'Choose an international shipping option' (cards: the guide's Letter-post – International page), which says delivery standards apply between most major urban centres and are estimates only. Guide footnote: International Parcel tracking covers events within Canada only. All checked 2026-10-18.

The holiday table is Canada Post’s own estimate of when to post for an on-time holiday arrival, and its footnote says the dates are “between major urban centres and are dependent on origin and destination”. A parcel posted in Iqaluit or Fort McMurray, or addressed to a town in Kalinga, sits outside that assumption.

Read against the business-day estimates, the two dates leave little slack. Xpresspost International posted on Friday, December 11 lands between Thursday, December 17 and Tuesday, December 22 on the 4–7 business-day range. A Small Packet posted on Wednesday, December 9 lands between December 17 and Wednesday, December 23 if it goes by air (6–10 days), and no earlier than Wednesday, January 6, 2027 on the surface estimate. The holiday page does not say which of the two its December 9 refers to. These windows count Monday to Friday on Canada Post’s estimates (derived).

Sources: Canada Post 'Choose an international shipping option' and consumer prices guide (Letter-post – International); Johnny Air Cargo Canada FAQ ('5 to 10 business days from flight date to delivery depending on the destination'). Both checked 2026-10-18. Johnny Air's count starts at the Wednesday flight, after the Tuesday drop-off cut-off; Canada Post's starts at posting. Surface services (4–12 weeks) are in the table above, on their own unit.

Surface: what the 4–12 week estimate says about December 24

Neither surface service has a holiday date. Both carry the same posted estimate, 4 to 12 weeks, a range wide enough that the posting day decides what it says about Christmas.

Counted back from that estimate (derived), the 12-week end reached December 24 only for a parcel posted by Thursday, October 1. For Three Kings on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, the same end needed posting by Wednesday, October 14. Both days had passed by October 18. At the other end, a parcel posted after Thursday, November 26 lands after December 24 even on 4 weeks, and one posted after Wednesday, December 9 lands after January 6.

In between, December 24 sits inside the estimated range. On Canada Post’s figures a surface parcel posted then may or may not arrive by Christmas Eve, and the estimate gives no way to tell which.

What does Canada Post charge to send a parcel to the Philippines?

The consumer guide prices each service by rate code and by weight “up to and including”. The Philippines rows below come from the codes the guide assigns it.

Canada Post consumer prices guide, updated September 7, 2026; these four price tables carry an effective date of July 2, 2025 (checked 2026-10-18). Price applies to the greater of actual weight or volumetric equivalent. 'Fuel surcharge may apply' (no figure in the guide). Additional handling surcharge for unpackaged or oversized items on Xpresspost International and International Parcel: CAD 21.00, or CAD 30.00 in the peak season of November 2, 2026 to January 10, 2027. Liability coverage up to CAD 100 is included on Xpresspost International and International Parcel; the guide lists none for Small Packet.

At 2 kg, Small Packet by air costs more than International Parcel by surface (CAD 82.95 against CAD 73.51), so at that weight the cheaper service is also the slower one. Between the air and surface Small Packet columns, the gap grows from CAD 10.69 at 0.5 kg to CAD 45.01 at 2 kg (derived from the table). The guide lists Home Pickup at CAD 3.50 for the international services.

Do UPS, FedEx or DHL post a Christmas 2026 date from Canada?

As of October 18, 2026, none of the three carries a 2026 Canada-to-Philippines last-ship date that this page can cite, so each is a confirm-with row. FedEx Canada has posted the days it closes around Christmas.

Which Canadian balikbayan couriers post a 2026 Christmas cut-off?

Five Canadian box couriers with their own websites were read on October 18, 2026. None shows a Christmas cut-off, sea or air. The table sets each one beside the DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau’s Canada list, which names the Philippine forwarder each Canadian company is accredited with.

The list prints registered company names, which can differ from a trading name. Dates posted only on Facebook or reposted flyers are not carried. CAD box prices: see the Canada courier rates page.

The DTI list itself is longer than the couriers that run websites. Its August 2026 edition has 46 rows for Canada, grouped as Alberta, Calgary, Edmonton, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, Toronto and Vancouver, with Vancouver (14 rows) and Ontario (13) the largest. Many Canadian agents appear more than once, paired with different Philippine forwarders.

Johnny Air is the one courier that posts a schedule a reader can count from. Its Shipping Updates page, updated October 16, 2026, says the flight leaves “every Wednesday, and cut-off is every Tuesday by 3:00 PM EST”, with arrival in the Philippines estimated for Friday. Its FAQ puts Metro Manila at one week from the flight and the provinces at up to 10 business days.

  4. Delivery or pick-up

    By Wed Dec 23 (derived)

Derived, not a posted date: Johnny Air's posted weekly pattern and its 5–10 business-day delivery, counted Monday to Friday from the Wednesday flight. For Metro Manila the same count gives the Tuesday, December 15 cut-off and Wednesday, December 16 flight. Johnny Air: 'shipping dates are subject to change and delays can occur due to unforeseen events, observed or federal holidays'. Rates on its site: CAD 9.00 per lb to Metro Manila, CAD 10.00 per lb to the provinces, 2 lb minimum, plus a delivery fee for door-to-door.

The schedule also says why that count can slip. Every flight is “weight restricted and subject to payload availability”, so a shipment can be offloaded to the next week’s flight. Senders outside Toronto mail the parcel to Wilson Avenue first and pay by invoice, which puts a domestic leg in front of the Tuesday cut-off.

The last leg inside the Philippines

A box that clears in Manila still has a domestic trip to make, and it differs a lot by island. LBC posts those days on its Canada sea-freight page, counted from the National Capital Region on its own network.

LBC Express: domestic delivery days from the National Capital Region, as posted on LBC's Canada sea-freight page Posted terms — see sources
Source: LBC Express Canada sea-freight page (lbcexpress.com/ca/sea-freight, checked 2026-10-18), 'From NAT'L CAPITAL REGION' rows. LBC: 'Number of days excludes Sundays and Holidays.' The page posts no Canada-to-Manila sea leg, so these bars are the final leg only.

For Batanes the final leg alone runs up to 11 days. LBC’s count also skips holidays, and Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025 makes December 24 a special non-working day and December 25 a regular holiday, so a box still in transit on Christmas Eve loses those days as well.

How to check a Canadian forwarder against the DTI list

DTI posts the Canada list as a public PDF each month, two to four weeks after its “as of” date (the January to August 2026 files went up between February 18 and September 18). Each row pairs a foreign agent in Canada with a local freight forwarding company in the Philippines and gives that pairing an expiry date. On the August edition, the pairing of Odyssey Shipping Ltd (Québec) with Globelink NVOCC Phils. carries 22 September 2026, a date that passed before any September edition went up. Expiry is the third of the four checks below.

Padala timing: Canada’s December closures and the cost of a transfer

When the parcel window has gone, a transfer is the other way to get Christmas home, and the Canadian side runs on Payments Canada’s calendar. Its systems operate Monday to Friday except statutory holidays. Boxing Day falls on a Saturday in 2026, so the closure moves to Monday, December 28.

Canada’s payment systems are shut four days running, Friday, December 25 through Monday, December 28. Philippine bank closures over the December 30 to January 3 stretch, and which payout channels each one holds up, are on December remittance timing.

What changes once the box lands

The channel decides which customs rule the shipment meets in Manila. A Canada Post or courier parcel that is not a balikbayan box comes under CMTA §423, which collects no duties and taxes on goods valued at ₱10,000 or below on an FOB or FCA basis. A balikbayan box comes under CAO 01-2018, where §4.2 adds up the FCA value of every box one sender ships in a calendar year against a ₱150,000 ceiling and §4.1 allows the duty-free privilege three times in that year. Under §4.4, a box that travels by post outside a consolidated shipment still counts toward the three (CAO and CMTA texts on customs.gov.ph, read 2026-10-18). The tax-free limit page sets out the whole privilege: the balikbayan box tax-free limit.

How to read this

For a parcel, Canada Post’s last posted 2026 dates for Asia are Wednesday, December 9 (Small Packet and cards) and Friday, December 11 (Xpresspost International), set for major urban centres. For a box, the closing date belongs to each courier, and Johnny Air’s weekly Tuesday cut-off is the only schedule posted. The calendar at the top takes a dated marker whenever a courier or express carrier posts its own 2026 date, and it is re-checked weekly until December 24. For one Canadian courier and one destination region, the Christmas box cut-off checker counts back from Dec 24.

Questions, answered

What is the Canada Post Christmas 2026 deadline for the Philippines?
Canada Post's holiday sending page, dated October 2026, has no Philippines row; the Philippines falls under its Asia row. That row gives Friday, December 11 for Xpresspost International and Wednesday, December 9 for the Tracked Packet/Small Packet column, with cards also December 9 (checked October 18, 2026). Tracked Packet International is not offered to the Philippines in Canada Post's price guide of September 7, 2026, so for a Philippine address the December 9 column means Small Packet International. Canada Post's dates run between major urban centres, and exceptions apply.
Is it too late to send a balikbayan box from Canada for Christmas 2026?
As of October 18, 2026, none of the five Canadian box couriers checked (Darna Express, Forex eShip Canada, Johnny Air Cargo Canada, LBC Express Canada, UMAC Toronto) posts a 2026 Christmas cut-off on its own site. Johnny Air Cargo Canada posts a weekly air schedule instead: drop-off cut-off Tuesday at 3:00 PM EST, flight Wednesday from Toronto, delivery 5 to 10 business days from the flight. Counted back from December 24, that puts the last provincial flight on December 9 (cut-off December 8) and the last Metro Manila flight on December 16. That count is derived from Johnny Air's posted schedule.
Will a Canada Post strike affect Christmas 2026 mail to the Philippines?
Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers signed new collective agreements for the Urban and Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier units on June 18, 2026, and Canada Post states they remain in place until January 31, 2029 (Canada Post negotiations site, checked October 18, 2026). Canada Post's international service alert of October 1, 2026 lists the Philippines under service available, with no partial-service mark. Canada Post's delivery standards page says its on-time guarantee may be modified in the peak period.
Can a Canada Post surface parcel reach the Philippines by Christmas 2026?
Canada Post posts no holiday date for surface, and its estimate for International Parcel Surface and Small Packet Surface is 4 to 12 weeks (checked October 18, 2026). Counting back from that estimate, the 12-week end reached December 24 only for parcels posted by Thursday, October 1, 2026, and January 6, 2027 for parcels posted by Wednesday, October 14. For a parcel posted after Thursday, November 26, even the 4-week end falls after December 24. Between those dates, Christmas Eve sits inside the estimated range, which neither promises nor rules out arrival.
How much does Canada Post charge to send a parcel to the Philippines?
Canada Post's consumer price guide (updated September 7, 2026; price tables effective July 2, 2025) puts the Philippines on rate code 106 for Xpresspost International, at CAD 97.19 up to 1 kg and CAD 199.41 up to 5 kg, and rate code 406 for International Parcel Surface, at CAD 63.67 and CAD 136.38 for the same weights. Both take up to 20 kg. Small Packet International (rate code 6, up to 2 kg) costs CAD 51.60 by air and CAD 25.76 by surface up to 1 kg. A fuel surcharge may apply.
