Saudi Arabia Christmas balikbayan box cut-off 2026, by courier (sea + air)

Checked Seasonal — refreshed yearly

None of the seven Saudi balikbayan couriers found with websites of their own posts a Christmas 2026 cut-off there (sites checked October 19, 2026), and no 2026 Philippines send-by date was found for SPL, DHL or Aramex. What the couriers do post is transit time. Counted back from Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, LBC Express KSA’s 40–60 days door to door put a sea hand-over between Sunday, October 25 and Saturday, November 14, 2026, and Manila Express Cargo’s FAQ range for Luzon, 30–60 days, runs to Tuesday, November 24. The same courier’s longer figures count back earlier: September 25 to October 25 for the Visayas and Mindanao (60–90 days), October 15 to October 30 for Luzon on its homepage (55–70 days). By air, the windows open on Sunday, November 29 (Manila Express Cargo, 7–25 days) and Wednesday, December 9 (LBC, “as fast as 7-15 days”). All of these are derived, not posted dates.

Two October notices bear on how a box leaves. Maersk’s Middle East Operational Update 51 (08 Oct 2026) lists dry cargo bookings to and from Dammam and Al Jubail as suspended and accepts bookings at Jeddah and King Abdullah Port. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) suspended King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh after an attack on October 10 and extended the suspension on October 12. No courier’s transit figure mentions either.

Derived count-back dates only (Saudi Arabia, Christmas 2026): Dec 24 minus posted transit; no courier posts a cut-off (checked 2026-10-18) Dated send-by markers — see sources

Cut-off not published — confirm with the courier

  • GP Express Cargo — sea/air: posts prices by destination; no transit figure and no 2026 Christmas cut-off (checked 2026-10-18)
  • Sahari Cargo — air/sea: posts 10–15 days door to door for all its destinations; no 2026 Christmas cut-off (checked 2026-10-18)
  • Fil-Asia Cargo — sea/air: no transit figure and no 2026 Christmas cut-off on its own site (checked 2026-10-18)
  • Timeline Global Express — sea/air: no transit figure and no 2026 Christmas cut-off on its own site (checked 2026-10-18)
  • UMAC Forwarders Express — sea: Saudi partner listed; no transit figure and no 2026 Christmas cut-off (checked 2026-10-18)
Every dated marker is derived: Dec 24, 2026 (an additional special non-working day under Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025) minus one end of a posted range from LBC Express KSA, Manila Express Cargo or DTI's Middle East estimate. A date a courier posts on its own site replaces the matching marker.

How long does a box from Saudi Arabia take to reach the Philippines?

Three couriers post a figure, and one Philippine government table adds a split by island group.

Saudi Arabia to the Philippines: every posted transit range, in days (checked 2026-10-18) Posted terms — see sources
Couriers' own pages, read 2026-10-18; none carries an effective date. DTI: consumer FAQ, 'Estimated Door to Door Rates of a Typical Balikbayan Box and Transit Time by Destination', Middle East row (there is no Saudi row), undated, read from the Internet Archive copy of 16 May 2025, the newest copy available. No range mentions the 2026 Dammam booking suspension or the Riyadh airport closure.

Manila Express Cargo, whose office is in Al Batha, Riyadh, gives two Luzon figures. Its homepage says 55 to 70 days by sea, while its FAQ page, under “How long does delivery take?”, says 30 to 60 days for the Luzon area. Both were live on October 18. The Visayas and Mindanao figure, 60 to 90 days, is the same on both pages, and both Luzon rows stay here, each labelled with its page, until the courier posts one.

LBC’s 40 to 60 days is one national range. It is quoted door to door, with no split by island group. DTI’s table works the other way: no Saudi row, a single “Middle East” line and three Philippine destinations, with the Mindanao band starting five days after the Metro Manila band ends. The same FAQ lists the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia first among the places most balikbayan boxes come from.

Sahari Cargo, headquartered in Riyadh, posts 10 to 15 days “by air or sea, depending on the destination”. That figure covers all ten countries it ships to, from India to the United Kingdom, and its own terms call transit times “estimates, not guarantees”.

When is the last day to send a box from Saudi Arabia for Christmas 2026?

Each posted range can be set against Christmas Eve, and against Three Kings on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, for a box that may arrive after the 24th.

Derived arithmetic: target date minus the slow end (earlier date) and the fast end (later date) of each range. None of the ranges counts the days a box waits in a Riyadh, Jeddah or Al Khobar warehouse before a container leaves. Sources as in the chart above.

In the “For Dec 24” column, Sunday, October 25 appears three times: as the start of LBC’s sea window, the end of Manila Express Cargo’s Visayas and Mindanao window, and the start of DTI’s Mindanao window. Sunday is a working day in Saudi Arabia, where the week runs Sunday to Thursday.

The Jan 6 column moves every date thirteen days later. On Manila Express Cargo’s Visayas and Mindanao figure, the derived window for a box to Cebu or Davao then runs to Saturday, November 7.

What Saudi balikbayan couriers post for Christmas 2026

Seven couriers serving the Saudi-to-Philippines route were found with websites of their own. On October 18 each site was searched for three things: a Christmas date, a transit range and a riyal price. A second search for a Christmas date, on October 19, found none either.

Alphabetical. A posted transit is the courier's general estimate. The last column matches names against the Saudi rows of the DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau list as of 30 April 2026; a name match does not by itself show which company handles a given box. Skyway Cargo (Jeddah) was also read: its site names no Philippine service. Forwarders that publish only on Facebook are not listed.

GP Express and Manila Express Cargo both print prices by Philippine zone for a box of the same size, 60 × 60 × 60 cm. GP Express has no Luzon 4 price for that box.

GP Express charges SAR 320 for Mindanao against SAR 230 for Metro Manila, 39% more. Manila Express Cargo charges SAR 350 for the Visayas and Mindanao together against SAR 270 for the Manila area, 30% more. Both percentages are arithmetic on the posted boards.

LBC posts no board. Its sea rate “starts at a low price of SAR 99.00” and its air rate at SAR 65.00, both to Metro Manila, and the full figure depends on “box size, final weight, and destination”. Manila Express Cargo’s air rates add a distance charge for Luzon outside Manila, SAR 1.5 per kilometre on top of SAR 13 per kilogram.

Which Saudi port does a sea box leave from in October 2026?

No Saudi courier checked posts its port of loading. The October 8 update from Maersk, one of the container lines, sets out where that line was taking bookings.

No Saudi courier posts a day count for any middle stage, so none is shown. The first-stage window is derived from LBC's posted range.

Maersk’s update separates import from export. For imports it lists a domestic landbridge by truck “From Jeddah Port to Riyadh and Dammam”, and it states that cargo destined to Riyadh and Dammam moves through Jeddah. It also pauses landside bookings from Jeddah Port to the UAE, Oman and Qatar. It says nothing about which port a Riyadh or Dammam export uses, and a Saudi consolidator may book with another line.

Is the Riyadh airport closure holding up air cargo?

By air, the derived windows for December 24 run from Wednesday, December 9 to Thursday, December 17 on LBC’s 7–15 days, and from Sunday, November 29 to Thursday, December 17 on Manila Express Cargo’s 7–25 days. Those are derived dates. They also rest on published transit figures that predate the Riyadh suspension, and neither courier states how its air boxes are routed during the King Khalid International suspension.

Is there a Saudi Post, DHL or Aramex Christmas deadline for the Philippines?

Small parcels outside the box system go by post or express. For none of the three carriers was a 2026 Philippines send-by date found as of October 18.

Delivery days inside the Philippines, by island group

After customs release, the box travels on inside the country. LBC’s Saudi pages carry a domestic lead-time table, counted from the National Capital Region.

LBC's domestic lead time from the National Capital Region, by destination (days, Sundays and holidays excluded) Posted terms — see sources
LBC Express, table 'From NAT'L CAPITAL REGION' on lbcexpress.com/sa/shipping-services and /sa/sea-freight, read 2026-10-18: 'Number of days excludes Sundays and Holidays.' Domestic final mile only. LBC's 40–60 day sea figure is quoted door to door, so it already contains this leg.

Under Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025, December 25 and December 30 are regular holidays, and December 24 and December 31 are special non-working days. LBC’s count also skips Sunday, December 27. A 4–6 day Mindanao leg in the last week of the year therefore covers more calendar days than its number.

How can a Saudi forwarder be checked on the DTI and BOC lists?

The Philippine government keeps the register on its side of the route. The DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau’s list “as of 30 April 2026”, posted as a PDF on the Bureau of Customs site, pairs each accredited Philippine sea forwarder with its agents abroad. It has 45 Saudi pairings: 19 in Riyadh, 9 each in Al Khobar and Jeddah, and 8 in Dammam.

What does a padala from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines cost?

Two amounts are priced in the World Bank’s survey of this corridor: SAR 750 and SAR 1,870, matching USD 200 and USD 500. Its newest survey on record is Q1 2025.

World Bank average total cost to send SAR 750 (USD 200) from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines, by survey quarter Posted terms — see sources

average total cost, % of SAR 750 (fee + exchange-rate margin)

World Bank Remittance Prices Worldwide, Saudi Arabia→Philippines, 'Total Average' rows (averages across surveyed products), read from Internet Archive copies of the corridor page dated 16 Jun 2024, 13 Sep 2024, 9 Dec 2024, 15 Mar 2025, 5 Jul 2025 and 7 Feb 2026; the live page was unavailable on 2026-10-18. No other amount is priced.

Across seven quarters, Q3 2023 to Q1 2025, the SAR 750 average stayed between 3.86% and 4.15%. In Q1 2025 that came to about SAR 29.71 per transfer, and SAR 41.40 at SAR 1,870. The average fee was SAR 22.05 at both amounts, so the fee is a smaller share of the larger transfer, and that accounts for most of the drop from 3.96% to 2.21%.

Across the 10 products surveyed in Q1 2025, total cost at SAR 750 ran from 2.37% to 11.22%, and at SAR 1,870 from 1.45% to 5.23%. The World Bank figures are survey averages from February 2025; a single transfer is priced by its provider on the day it is sent.

What happens at Philippine customs?

A box from Jeddah or Al Khobar clears Philippine customs under the same instrument as one from anywhere else. CAO 01-2018 §4.1 gives a sender three duty- and tax-free availments in a calendar year, and §4.2 limits the FCA value of all that sender’s boxes in the year to ₱150,000 combined (read 2026-10-18 in the BOC master copy). The worked cases are on the balikbayan box tax-free limit.

When a box will miss December 24

Three routes remain once the sea dates pass: an air box, an order placed inside the Philippines, or money sent home. What still arrives after the box cut-off sets the channels side by side, and paying from Saudi Arabia for a gift delivered in the Philippines is covered in Christmas gifts delivered in the Philippines from abroad.

For the full runway on any corridor, see the Christmas shipping timeline and how long a balikbayan box takes; for Saudi courier rates through the year, Saudi Arabia to Philippines courier rates; and for how sea, air and door-to-door compare, sea vs air vs door-to-door.

How to read this page

Badges mark what kind of figure each block carries. “Posted terms” means the number sits on its publisher’s own page, read on the date given. “Illustrative” marks arithmetic, which here means the count-back dates. A “confirm with” row has no posted figure behind it.

Four items on this page can change before Christmas: a Saudi courier may post a cut-off, Manila Express Cargo may post one Luzon range, GACA may reopen Riyadh’s airport, and Maersk or JMIC may issue a new update. The illustrative count-back dates can be redone one region at a time in the Christmas box cut-off checker.

Questions, answered

What is the Christmas 2026 cut-off for a balikbayan box from Saudi Arabia?
As of 2026-10-19, none of the seven Saudi balikbayan couriers found with websites of their own (LBC Express KSA, Manila Express Cargo, GP Express Cargo, Sahari Cargo, Fil-Asia Cargo, Timeline Global Express, UMAC Forwarders) posts a 2026 Christmas cut-off there. LBC Express KSA posts sea cargo at 40 to 60 days door to door. Counted back from Thursday, December 24, 2026, that gives a hand-over from Sunday, October 25 to Saturday, November 14; its air figure, 'as fast as 7-15 days', gives December 9 to 17. Those are derived dates; the courier's own written date replaces them.
How long does a balikbayan box take from Riyadh to the Philippines?
Posted sea figures from Saudi couriers, checked 2026-10-18: LBC Express KSA, 40 to 60 days door to door; Manila Express Cargo in Riyadh, 60 to 90 days to the Visayas and Mindanao, with Luzon given as 55 to 70 days on its homepage and 30 to 60 days on its FAQ page. DTI's undated estimate for a typical box from the Middle East (newest archived copy, 16 May 2025) is 35 to 45 days to Metro Manila and 50 to 60 days to Mindanao. Air: LBC 'as fast as 7-15 days', Manila Express Cargo 7 to 25 days.
Are balikbayan boxes from Riyadh and Dammam affected by the October 2026 disruptions?
Maersk's Middle East Operational Update 51 (08 Oct 2026) lists its dry cargo bookings to and from Dammam and Al Jubail as suspended, accepts bookings at Jeddah and King Abdullah Port, and offers an import landbridge by truck from Jeddah Port to Riyadh and Dammam. No Saudi courier checked posts which port its boxes leave from. GACA suspended King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on 10 Oct 2026 and extended the suspension on 12 Oct; no resumption statement was found in the Saudi Press Agency's English feed as of 18 Oct.
How can a Saudi cargo forwarder be checked before a balikbayan box is sent?
The DTI Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau's list of accredited sea freight forwarders and their foreign agents, as of 30 April 2026 and hosted on customs.gov.ph, carries 45 Saudi pairings across Al Khobar, Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh. Each row names the Philippine forwarder and its Saudi agent. The Bureau of Customs sender FAQ (id=40) describes the shipping documents: a packing list with item values, an official receipt, invoice, house bill of lading or waybill, and the Philippine agent's name and contact details on them.
How much does it cost to send money from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines?
The World Bank's Saudi Arabia→Philippines survey for Q1 2025 (data collected Feb 9–20, 2025) put the average total cost, fee plus exchange-rate margin, at 3.96% on SAR 750 (USD 200), about SAR 29.71, and 2.21% on SAR 1,870 (USD 500), about SAR 41.40, across 10 surveyed products. At SAR 750 the average stayed between 3.86% and 4.15% in every quarter from Q3 2023 to Q1 2025. The survey prices those two amounts only.
