Checked

Manila Express Cargo Riyadh posts SAR 250 for a Medium box (50x50x60) to the Manila area, labelled a promo (mec-riyadh.com, checked 2026-10-19). The tile shows unlimited weight and no end date. LBC Express KSA posts only a sea floor of SAR 99.00 to Metro Manila. A Saudi box price shifts with the origin city, the Philippine region and the box tier; the SAR lines a quote breaks into are listed next, then the customs ceiling.

Courier figures appear only where the courier posts them on its own site (mec-riyadh.com; lbcexpress.com/sa, checked 2026-10-19). This page is re-checked at least quarterly.

Over every Saudi quote sits the duty-free ceiling, a sourced and fixed term. CAO 01-2018 sets it as a yearly total for each sender, whichever courier carries the boxes and whichever Saudi city they leave from, and pairs it with a cap on how many times a year the privilege is used:

A sender in Riyadh who ships three boxes in one year at ₱60,000 of FCA value each reaches ₱180,000, which is past the ₱150,000 ceiling even though each box alone is well inside it. The availment cap counts separately, so either limit can be the first one reached. The exclusions that follow from both are listed on what you can and can’t pack.

What actually drives the price

Five lines make up a Saudi box price, and each moves on its own:

  • Box tier. Manila Express Cargo Riyadh prices each tier at one SAR figure with unlimited weight; LBC Express KSA states that rates vary per box size, final weight and destination (mec-riyadh.com; lbcexpress.com/sa, both checked 2026-10-19).
  • Origin coverage. Pickup from a residence or accommodation, or drop-off at a branch, and any surcharge for the sender’s city or area, change the door-to-door SAR figure before the box ships.
  • Destination region. Metro Manila, a province and an island carry different delivery costs and transit windows for the same box. Manila Express Cargo Riyadh posts a higher SAR price for each zone outside Manila, up to SAR 330 for a Medium box to Visayas/Mindanao (mec-riyadh.com/promo.php, checked 2026-10-19).
  • Sea or air. Manila Express Cargo Riyadh posts sea at 55–70 days to Luzon and air at 7–25 days, with air at 13 SAR/kg to the Manila area. LBC Express KSA’s posted floors are SAR 99.00 by sea and SAR 65.00 by air, each to Metro Manila.
  • Insurance and declared value. Coverage and its cap vary by courier, so the declared-value line differs between two quotes for one box. Cash coverage is a courier policy term. Packing cash has a published answer: the Bureau of Customs lists currencies, checks, money orders and traveller’s checks as not allowed in a balikbayan box (client.customs.gov.ph FAQ id=40, checked 2026-08-30). That list is BOC guidance on contents and says nothing about courier coverage.

Manila Express Cargo Riyadh’s own grid shows that spread: SAR 250 for a Medium box to the Manila area and SAR 330 to Visayas/Mindanao (mec-riyadh.com/promo.php). Written SAR quotes for one box, taken the same day, put each line next to its counterpart.

What the Saudi couriers post

LBC Express KSA publishes only a starting price (“starts at a low price of SAR 99.00” by sea to Metro Manila, SAR 65.00 by air; lbcexpress.com/sa, checked 2026-10-19) and states that rates vary per box size, final weight and destination. One kabayan forwarder posts readable SAR sea-box tiers on its own site: Manila Express Cargo Riyadh posts three promo tiers across six destination zones (mec-riyadh.com, checked 2026-10-19; the page carries no effective or end date, so the current figure is one to confirm with the courier):

One courier's own posted board, shown as evidence that a readable SAR sea-box rate exists on this corridor and listed without ranking. Each tier is labelled a promo, with no effective or end date posted, so the current figure is one to confirm with the courier. Every tier is posted as unlimited weight, and the box dimensions are posted without a unit. The promo page also posts air at 13 SAR/kg to the Manila area and 15 SAR/kg to Visayas and Mindanao, an Air Waybill of SAR 20 and Insurance of SAR 35, and states rates are subject to change without prior notice. Other Saudi forwarders quote by inquiry or share rate images on social media (Fil-Asia, Skyway, Timeline and Facebook-only operators), and those figures have no courier web page to cite. A posted board also differs by origin city and can change without a dated notice.

How to read this

The SAR total for one box depends on the Saudi origin city, the delivery province in the Philippines and the tier. This page sets out one courier’s posted promo board, the cost lines and the customs ceiling. Same-day written quotes for the same box, ordered by total door-to-door cost, show where two couriers differ. The fixed, sourced figure is the Bureau of Customs annual value ceiling, kept current at least quarterly, and it applies the same way to a box from Saudi Arabia, the US or anywhere else. Only the freight and the currency change.

For the US corridor and the same method, see courier rates US → Philippines. For the December deadlines on this route, see the Saudi Arabia Christmas 2026 cut-off dates. For the box-tier dimensions and weight limits the quotes are built on, see box weight & size limits by courier. For what is allowed inside, see what you can and can’t pack, and for sending a first box end to end, see the first-box checklist.

Is there one fixed price for cargo from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines?
No single SAR figure applies to every sender. The total is built from the box tier, the city of pickup and any area surcharge, the Philippine destination region, and sea or air. Manila Express Cargo Riyadh's posted promo prices run from SAR 250 (Medium, Manila area) to SAR 430 (XL, Visayas/Mindanao) across six destination zones, and LBC Express KSA's SAR 99.00 is a floor to Metro Manila (mec-riyadh.com/promo.php; lbcexpress.com/sa, both checked 2026-10-19).
Can a balikbayan box be sent through a kabayan cargo or from a labor accommodation in Saudi?
Box forwarding from Saudi Arabia runs through community cargo operators as well as larger couriers such as LBC Express KSA, and pickup from a residence or accommodation, or drop-off at a branch, changes the SAR figure before the box ships. The customs terms are the same for every operator: the duty-free privilege covers personal, non-commercial contents, capped at ₱150,000 total FCA value across one sender's boxes in a calendar year and availed up to three times (Bureau of Customs, CAO 01-2018 §4.1 to §4.2, checked 2026-08-30).
Do Saudi box couriers post their rates online?
Some do. As of 2026-10-19, Manila Express Cargo Riyadh posts SAR promo prices for three box tiers across six destination zones, plus air at 13 SAR/kg to the Manila area (mec-riyadh.com/promo.php). LBC Express KSA posts only a starting price, SAR 99.00 by sea and SAR 65.00 by air to Metro Manila, and states that rates vary per box size, final weight and destination (lbcexpress.com/sa). Other Saudi forwarders quote by inquiry or share rate images on social media, with no courier web page to cite.
